Overview
First Aid is an absolute necessity in the workplace. This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to achieve Level 1 or 2 first aid status.
Objectives
Participants will learn how to apply first aid practices in their work environment.
Content
LEVEL 1 FIRST AID
CPR and practical assessment - heart foundation assessment tool
Head, neck and spine injury
Bleeding, bandaging, slings and wound dressings.
LEVEL 2 FIRST AID
Day 1
- CPR & practical assessment - heart foundation assessment tool
- Care of:- burns; wounds; poisoning; head injury; chest injury; fractures, hypothermia Bandaging and slings
- Management of venomous injury -snake, spider
- Management of unconscious patient,
- Prioritisation
- Regulations applying to first aid including setting up a first aid room, kit contents, records maintenance.
Day 2
- Scenario assessment
Who should attend
Delegated First Aid representatives or interested persons who want to achieve Certificate Levels 1 or 2.
Pre-requisite knowledge
No pre-requisite knowledge required for the course.
